Can I use eSIM on my phone?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Updated October 2025

eSIM technology has to be built into your phone from the factory - it's not something you can add with a software update. This means you can only use an eSIM on your current phone only if it’s eSIM compatible. Don't worry - almost all modern phones have it built-in.

Below is a comprehensive reference list of devices known to support eSIM. Availability can vary by region, carrier-lock status, and software version, so please always check on your device.

Important Notes

eSIM support depends on:

  • Region and model variant

  • Firmware version

  • Whether the device is carrier-locked

  • Manufacturer updates to software/hardware

Some devices sold in China, Hong Kong, or select markets may not have eSIM enabled even if the model normally supports it.

This list is accurate as of October 2025, but new devices are launched frequently.

We recommend checking in your phone settings (Android):

Settings → Mobile/Cellular → Add eSIM (or SIM Manager)

If that option is available, your device likely supports eSIM.
